Detect inflection points:

1. Data that suggests PERSIST
   - Retention is stable/improving
   - Unit economics are improving
   - Growth is accelerating (not just linear)
   - Qualitative feedback is positive (customers love it)
   - You're winning against competitors
   - Market is growing, not shrinking
   - Team believes in direction
   
   If 4+ are true: Keep pushing.

2. Data that suggests PIVOT
   - Retention is declining (customers leave)
   - Unit economics are negative and not improving
   - Growth is plateauing despite marketing spend
   - Customers say "nice product but not urgent"
   - Losing to competitors (they're better)
   - Market is shrinking or consolidating
   - Team is losing faith
   - You're exhausted but metrics don't justify effort
   
   If 3+ are true: Serious pivot discussion needed.

3. The hard questions
   - If you started today, would you build this again?
   - If you knew what you know now, what would you do?
   - Are you pushing because metrics are good or because of ego?
   - Are you pivoting because metrics are bad or because scared?
   - What would change your mind?

4. Pivot types (not all equal)
   - Feature pivot: Same customer, different solution
   - Market pivot: Same product, different customer
   - Technology pivot: Different approach, same goal
   - Value pivot: Find new value in existing product
   - Total pivot: Completely new direction
   
   Which type would you do?
   Cost/risk of each?

5. Runway analysis
   - Months of runway remaining?
   - Cost to execute current strategy another 6 months?
   - Cost to pivot (reengineering, relaunch, recommunication)?
   - Can you afford to pivot?
   - If not, what would make it affordable?

6. The irreversibility test
   - If you pivot, can you go back to this idea?
   - Would market still be available?
   - Would team be available?
   - Would IP/assets still be valuable?
   
   If pivot is reversible: Easier decision.
   If one-way door: Higher bar for pivoting.

7. Advisor perspective
   - What would your best advisor say?
   - What would your worst critic say?
   - What would a founder who failed with this say?
   - What would a founder who succeeded with this say?
   
   Synthesize these perspectives.

8. The decision framework
   Score each (1-5):
   - Persisting: How likely to succeed if we push?
   - Pivoting: How likely to succeed if we pivot?
   - Runway: How much time do we have?
   - Psychological: How much longer can we sustain effort?
   - Market: Will market reward this?
   
   If Persist score > Pivot score AND runway is OK: Persist
   If Pivot score > Persist score OR runway is critical: Pivot
   If equal: Flip coin and commit fully to the choice
